MaKu was established in 1995 and was the first company in the Czech Republic to start producing touristic plastic canoes.

The technology of plastic boats production (rotary smelting) guarantees, compared to laminate boats, new excellent qualities. Thanks to the used material, Super Linear polyethylene, the canoes have a high durability and at the same time an advantageous weight, they are also more resistant to mechanical damage and thus frequent repair works cease to be necessary.

The first model which MaKu produced was an open touristic canoe MaKu ViKi, suitable especially for calm water. The boat's design was derived from a well-known laminate touristic canoe Viki Sodomka, whose constructor is a multiple world champion in canoe slalom and racing, Petr Sodomka. For those who like more difficult terrains, a closed canoe MaKu ViKi was developed, which, when using spray-deck, moreover guarantees perfectly dry clothing.

Both boats have, thanks to their 4,3 m length, excellent riding qualities. A special geometry of the bow restrains the gushing of water into do boast while riding in waves.

We offer MaKu Vydra canoe as a classical open touristic boat to be used up to the WW III degree of difficulty and a closed one for more difficult terrains. This boat has three openings in which you can comfortably sit as in the open type and these can easily be closed by spray-decks. For this type of boat MaKu makes special waterproof 70 l barrels for your belongings which moreover brace the floor and secure the boat against sinking.

A 2005 newcomer is a touristic canoe TURAN which, compared to model 2004, has a strengthened deck at the gunwale area, which provides extreme stability and bearing capacity while maintaining an easy manageability. A large internal space ensures comfort for the whole crew during a long voyage in more people. With its qualities it suits even the beginning water-men and thus it is convenient for travel agencies and for those who do not want to travel only in two. The boat is equipped with three seats.

All boats have a standard gunwale allowing the use of a spray-deck. The floor is braced with three keels which maximizes its compactness, constricts the possibility of snapping and at the same time assures a good guidance of the boat. The boat can be, upon request, equipped with inflatable air bags to prevent sinking. It is also possible to buy waterproof barrels and spray-decks for all types of canoes which will allow smooth canoeing through water terrains and even greater difficulties. A comfortable seating on wooden seats and smooth, unslippery sides inside of the boat, all that will intensify the driving experience.
